Michele Simon is a public health attorney with 18 years of experience in food and beverage law and policy. Through her research and writing, she stays on top of the latest developments in federal regulations including from FDA, USDA, and FTC. She has written extensively about food litigation, food politics, and a wide range of food advocacy efforts at the federal, state, and local levels. She offers legal services on federal regulatory compliance for labeling and marketing, as well as consulting on various food policy issues, from school regulations to GMO labeling to ethical marketing practices. Michele teaches “The Politics of Food” at the University of the Pacific’s new graduate program in Food Studies. She recently coordinated a coalition of plant-based food companies to weigh in on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. She is based in Oakland, California.
