Tyson Whitney is the Director of the Transparency and Accountability Reporting Division (TARD) in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. He oversees Federal financial assistance policy including the implementation of Title 2 CFR Part 200 at USDA. He is also responsible for coordinating Suspension and Debarment activities and the implementation and use of prizes and challenges. His division also manages Federal financial assistance reporting required under the Federal Financial Accountability and Transparency Act as well as the implementation of the Digital Accountability and Transparency (DATA) Act. Other reporting requirements include travel data and reconciliations of assistance data. Ad hoc reporting needs are managed from TARD. He represents the department on multiple Federal financial assistance and DATA Act committees. Tyson Whitney has been with USDA 12 years. Prior to USDA he worked in private banking, MCI Worldcom, the American Geophysical Union and served in the Peace Corps. He graduated with a BA from Guildford College and received his MBA from George Washington University.
