As the Director for Financial Reporting and Internal Controls, Mr. Alston oversees the Department of Commerce’s financial reporting and internal controls activities which includes coordinating the annual financial audit, monitoring the resolution of audit findings, and overseeing the Department’s assessment of A-123 internal controls over financial reporting. Mr. Alston also currently serves as a representative to the Accounting & Auditing Policy Committee (AAPC), and is a member of the DC Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA).
