Tim Gribben was commissioner of the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS) from May 13, 2019, until his retirement on April 30, 2026. As commissioner, he oversaw bureau operations and provided leadership, policy direction, and guidance for BFS’s efforts to transform financial management and the delivery of shared services in the federal government. Prior to BFS, Tim worked at the Small Business Administration, the U.S. Postal Service, a privately held technology firm, and J.P. Morgan. In 2019 he was elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration; in 2021 he received a Presidential Rank Award of Distinguished Executive; in 2024 he received the JFMIP Scantlebury Memorial Award for his outstanding leadership in financial management; and, in 2026 he received Treasury’s Alexander Hamilton Award. Mr. Gribben earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the College of William & Mary and a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
