Ms. Fenstermacher is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Operations), located in the National Capital Region. She is responsible for Department of the Navy (DON) accounting and financial management matters; her primary responsibility is developing and implementing Department-wide accounting and finance policies and procedures which also support Department of Defense initiatives in these areas. Ms. Fenstermacher is spearheading DON’s transformation strategy for successful audit of the Department’s financial statements. Ms. Fenstermacher was selected to the Senior Executive Service in 2004. Prior to her present assignment as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy, she served as the Assistant Commander for Financial Management and Comptroller, Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP). At NAVSUP, previous assignments also included Assistant Commander for Enterprise Business Operations, Director of Corporate Operations, and Command Information Officer. In addition, Ms. Fenstermacher was Director of the Pilot Funding and Project Management Group in the DON eBusiness Operations Office; and, she was Director of the Cash Management Division at NAVSUP, responsible for the pricing and cash solvency of a $6 billion annual budget.
