Nathan Lokos
Assistant Inspector General for Audit
USAID Office of the Inspector General
Nathan Lokos was appointed Assistant Inspector General for Audit (AIG/A) for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Office of Inspector General, in March 2014. As AIG/A, Mr. Lokos reports to the Deputy Inspector General, and is responsible for supervising all audit activities and operational procedures relating to the efficiency and effectiveness of foreign assistance programs. Mr. Lokos has served over 26 years with the Office of Inspector General (OIG). During that time, he assumed positions of increasing responsibility including serving as the OIG’s Regional Inspector General in South Africa, the Director of the OIG’s office in Afghanistan, and most recently as an Acting Deputy AIG/A. Mr. Lokos has also served in several other USAID OIG locations including Egypt, Hungary, Philippines, Thailand, and Washington, DC. Before joining USAID, Mr. Lokos worked in the private sector and prior to that, with the Defense Contract Audit Agency. Mr. Lokos holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and is an alumnus of the Federal Executive Institute. He is also a certified public accountant.
