Bill is the appointed County Auditor of Johnson County, Kansas. Prior professional service included the Missouri State Auditor's Office as the Director, Performance Audit, a 34-year career in the Federal Government serving as Regional Manager for the Kansas City Office of Audit, U.S. Department of Energy and as Regional Director, Kansas City Office of Inspector General, U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He also served as an Audit Program Director with the U.S. Army Audit Agency. Bill is a lifetime member of AGA; an organization he chose to affiliate with early in his career because he saw the opportunity for leadership it provided for him and the natural progression of those skills into his chosen profession. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master of Arts in Government from Southern Illinois University—Edwardsville. He is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Government Financial Manager. Bill is active in professional audit organizations and has served in leadership positions: • Association of Government Accountants o National Senior Vice President o Regional Vice President o Chapter President Kansas City Chapter o By-Laws Director, Northern Virginia Chapter o Co-Chair, Host Committee-National Professional Development Conference o Vice-Chair National Community Service Committee • Institute of Internal Auditors o Member Kansas City Chapter Program Committee • Association of Local Government Auditors o Member National Advocacy Committee • Mid-America Intergovernmental Audit Forum o Member Executive Committee • International Center for Performance Auditing o Member Advisory Council He has received the numerous national awards for his service with professional audit organizations and has published articles in professional newsletters and journals.
