Wärtsilä Finland Oy
Mikael Wideskog joined Wärtsilä in 1993. For 3 years he was involved with gas engine design and development in R&D in Vaasa, Finland. For two years he was working as gas engine Project Manager at Cummins Wärtsilä in Mulhouse, France. In 1997 he returned to Finland and became Section Manager for gas engine development in Vaasa, Finland. He has been responsible for various gas engine development projects, including the Wärtsilä 34SG, Wärtsilä 50SG, Wärtsilä 34DF and Wärtsilä 50DF dual fuel engines. In autumn 2000 he became Section Manager for Gas Engine Testing at the engine laboratory in Vaasa, Finland. In 2002 he became Product Manager for the Wärtsilä 50DF dual fuel engine (2006 – 2007 in Wärtsilä Italia in Trieste, Italy). 2007 he returned to Finland and became Manager dual fuel technologies. Since autumn 2009 he has been working as General Manager Gas Plants in Power Plant Technology responsible for developing the most feasible power plant solutions.
