Ronald Meijer has more than 20 years of experience as a senior consultant and project manager at DNV KEMA on thermal conversion processes focusing on coal, co-firing of biomass and waste, catalysis and fuel and flue gas clean-up processes. He has been actively involved in the initiation, evaluation and development of projects into (new) thermal conversion technologies focused on increased efficiency and a reduction of investment costs for power production in combination with fossil and non-fossil (biomass, waste) conversion. From 2002 to 2012 he has been responsible for the targeted project “Sustainable Energy and New Conversion Technologies”, a program of the joint Dutch Utilities (TSA). This R&D program is aiming at the short-term issues and problems associated with the implementation of new emerging technologies in the Dutch power sector. From 2006 to 2011 he has been responsible for KEMA's Clean Fossil Power services including co-firing, new clean conversion technologies, emission management and carbon capture and sequestration (CCS). From July 2012 he is program manager of the Electricity Production Research & Co-operation program of the Dutch Utilities. As of January 2013 he has joined the Market & Regulations group as a service line principal with special focus on strategic power generation consultancy.
