Mrs. Ineke Dezentjé was appointed President of FME in November 2011. The FME is the number one Dutch employers' organisation in the technology industry. The 2,300 affiliated companies employ a total of 225,000 people and are active in the fields of manufacturing, trade, automation and maintenance in a variety of sectors including energy, transport, infrastructure, metals, electronics, health and plastics. The combined turnover of all FME members is EUR 70 billion and account for one-sixth of all Dutch exports. The FME launches a sector analysis for the energy market in June, providing an in-depth analysis of end market developments, trends in technology and energy transition as well as an analysis of the FME Energy Cluster, comprising over 400 member companies active in the field of Energy. The report puts a special emphasis on Industrial Energy Efficiency and the Future Flexibility Options for the Energy System as a whole. Mrs. Dezentjé graduated as a Master in Law in 1987 at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. From 1993 until 2003 she was the general director of the Rotterdam Port Promotion Council (RPPC), after which she became a Member of Parliament for the liberal political party in the Netherlands, the VVD. Among other additional functions she is also president of the steering committee Smart Industry, an initiative intended to make the industry more competitive through faster and better utilisation of the opportunities ICT has to offer.
