Hellmuth Brüggemann holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. He started his career in January 1991 with ALSTOM (formerly EVT Energie- und Verfahrenstechnik GmbH) as a project engineer in the department “Firing Systems”. In 1995 he was appointed technical manager of the department, and in 1998 was appointed manager “Firing Systems Design”. In 2011, Mr Brüggemann took over responsibility of the fuel laboratory and the mill testing facilities. He is well recognized in the combustion community as an expert in fuel assessment, emissions; combustion of difficult fuel; slagging and fouling problems, etc. Mr. Brüggemann is actively involved in various committees; chairing conferences and is currently chairman of the board of DVV.
