Mr. Fitzsimmons is the Principle Investigator of the Oxy-fired Pressurized Fluidized Bed Combustor program at Aerojet Rocketdyne (AR). He has over 29 years of experience in development and testing of technologies in the energy, rocket and combustion areas. Recent work includes design, testing and analysis to define scale-up criteria for several AR products: a Sorbent Enhanced methane Reformer (SER) with hot solids looping chemistry, a dry pulverized coal pump, and a coal and biomass gasifier. He also led development of a wide variety of products which function in hot, corrosive environments: injectors, cooled liners, valves and tanks.
