Dr Martin Atkin is Technical Director at Sterling Thermal Technology Ltd. He studied Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University and was awarded his Ph.D. in 1981 for work on pressurised filtration systems. He has since worked for over 30 years in the field of heat exchanger design, specification and development. While he has experience in design for the nuclear, dairy and process industries the majority of his work has been in relation to the cooling of large Motors and Generators. In his current role he is looking to develop new and innovative heat transfer solutions and products together with improvements in associated manufacturing processes.
