Mr. Sommer is the Coordinator for System Services and Project Manager of STEAG Energy Services GmbH Business Unit Energy Technology. He has been working for STEAG for over 20 years and has been involved in renewable and conventional projects. Among others he has been involved in the construction of 3,000 MW of conventional power plants in Turkey, Columbia, the Philippines, the USA and the Netherlands. He has taken part in the Merger & Acquisition of 500 MW on-shore Wind Projects, participated in 500 MW of biomass conversion projects and over 200 MW of concentrating solar power plants. Mr. Sommer is co-author of a patent for concentrating solar power plants. Mr. Sommer is the Vice Chairman of the National Testing Committee for Power Plant Foreman. For over 15 years he is the instructor at the VGB Kraftwerkschule e. V. for IT and computer systems in power plants. He is the STEAG representative at the Union of Industrial Energy Consumers.
