Gus Da Silva, P.E., is Sr. Manager for Long Island Rail Road, an agency of NY MTA. He has been manager with the LIRR since 1991 working at the strategic investments department (formerly Planning Department) on a number of capital planning projects. Prior to joining the LIRR, Mr. Da Silva worked in consulting projects for transit and roadways, including safety analysis of motor vehicle accidents to identify high risk locations. He has a BSCE from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a MS in Transportation Planning and Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of NY, now merged with New York University. Mr. Da Silva is a member of APTA and career-long member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). He is a registered professional engineer in New York state.
