Since 2012, Eric Vaillancourt is Senior Specialist, Rail Operations and Simulation, at Hatch Mott MacDonald. Eric started his career in the Transportation Planning group at Canadian National Railway, where he was tasked with developing yard and mainline numerical simulation tools. He then went on to CN’s subsidiary CANAC where he led the team responsible for the development of the Rails2000 network dispatching simulation package. Eric left CANAC for PS Technology, a subsidiary of Union Pacific, where he was responsible for the development of train dynamics simulation software as well as UP’s new generation train clearance program. Most recently he has participated in CN’s development of new simulation tools. Eric is based in Montreal, Canada.
