Chip is the Railroad Health and Safety Manager for HDR, Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska. He has a Master of Science from the Institute of Safety Science and Systems Management at the University of Southern California. For many years, he dispatched trains and managed equipment across the Union Pacific Railroad for many years. And, for many more, he was the Safety Director in the Coreslab Structures plant in La Platte,Nebraska manufacturing precast and pre-stressed concrete bridge components for railroad customers. For the last seven years he has been HDR’s single point of contact for all railroad safety and security issues for railroad projects for all the Class 1 and many of the Class 2, and 3 railroads in the U.S. and Canada. He is vice chairman of AREMA’s Maintenance Engineering Safety Steering Team 40 and a member of the National Railroad Construction & Maintenance Association Safety Committee.
