David D. Davis is a Senior Scientist for the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. in Pueblo, CO. His duties include AAR Strategic Research Initiatives and Government Track Research program management. Dave is also project manager for industry research projects in the areas of Special Trackwork, Rail Stress Management, Rail Steel and Technology Scanning research. He has written more than 200 technical papers and reports. Dave holds BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. He is a professional engineer in the state of Illinois and a member of the AREMA committee on track. Dave began his railroad career as a track laborer for the Chicago and North Western Railroad.
