As a Principal Engineer and Heavy Rail Leader, Dr. Mackiewicz is responsible for scoping and performance of subsurface investigations to develop geotechnical related recommendations and design parameters for site preparation, track substructure, subgrade stabilization, and structure foundations as related to railroad capacity improvement projects throughout the United States. His 20 year of experience includes coordination, supervision and performance of land and barge based subsurface exploration programs, in-situ testing, engineering consulting, construction observation and emergency response services for numerous Class 1 railroads. He is a member of AREMA Committees 1 and 8.
