Howard Swanson is currently Assistant Chief Engineer of Structures for Norfolk Southern. He has served Norfolk Southern for over 30 years in various engineering and maintenance positions. Howard has a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Emory University. Howard is licensed as a Structural Engineer in Illinois and as a Professional Engineer in Georgia. He is a past Vice President for the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association Structures Functional Group.
