Fancy Food is the largest specialty food trade event in North America and the leading showcase of industry innovation, bringing specialty food's top manufacturers, buyers, and thought leaders together for three days of exhibition and knowledge sharing. This is the first time in 15 years that Denmark will be exhibiting at Fancy Food.

A Danish food revolution

Denmark has seen a veritable food revolution the past decade, fueled by the global wave of New Nordic Cuisine. Similarly, interest in Danish food production and the Danish approach to agriculture and sustainable use of seasonal ingredients has been on the rise.

In New York, a number of Danish chefs and leaders in the food industry are making their way into the US market, and export of Danish specialty foods is gaining momentum.

Thomas Hoy, CEO of Nordic Food Export:

"We want to make high-quality Scandinavian foods available to the end consumer and share the experience and great taste of Nordic cuisine. Nordic Food products have the potential to innovate today’s American food culture and to attract the health- and quality-conscious consumer."

Head of the Trade Council’s food team, Anna de Klauman:

"Consumer demands move very fast in the U.S. these days. Consumers want transparency, information about the food they eat and how it is produced. The Danish food and agricultural production is characterized by a high degree of transparency, sustainability and high quality and matches many of the values and trends in the U.S. market. The window for Danish companies is now."

We have benefited from a close and long-term public-private partnership in safeguarding our raw materials in all aspects of the food value chain. A good example of dedication is the Danish tradition of producing organic food.
