In cooperation with the best companies in the
industry and with selected and certified laboratories, GFM puts on its
components all major finishing treatments, like COATING and HEAT, PLATING, AND
THERMOCHEMICAL TREATMENTS.
Coating with materials such as
chromium carbide and stellite can be done by welding, spraying or using HVOF
technology. They may also be in white metal, of varying degrees, for bearings.
GFM HEAT AND THERMOCHEMICAL
TREATMENTS include: Vacuum Hardening, Quenching, Tempering, Stress Relieving,
Normalization, Stabilization, Aging in Vacuum and Nitriding. The main SURFACE
TREATMENTS are: Zinc Electroplating, Polishing, Phosphating, Nickel Plating,
Chrome Plating and Silver Plating.
GFM staff is constantly brought up
to date of cutting edge technology and thus has a considerable knowledge of
building standards and welding of several products. We perform tig, electrode,
wire and submerged arc welding processes and our workers are qualified in
accordance with ASME IX and EN standards. The validation of the welding process
is managed by:
• Qualification of the welding (PQR
/ WPAR)
• Issuance of special welding
specifications (WPS: Welding Procedure Specifications)
• Qualification of the welding
experts (WPQ)
• Appropriate management of welding
materials
• Records of checks carried out
