Wing Lam , CEO and co-founder of Wahoo's Fish Taco , Brothers Wing Lam, Ed Lee and Mingo Lee, Wahoo’s Fish Taco have been serving up its eclectic Mexican-Brazilian-Asian menu since 1988. Wahoo’s has 60 locations across the U.S. and Japan.
Before people became “Instagram famous,” brand collaborations with well-known figures have been increasingly beneficial in consumer culture. Product placement in sports marketing has given exposure to both athletes and brands in a way that sells a lifestyle rather than a product. Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, a major Orange County brand for the past 30 years, continues to expand their business and fan-base because of their success in marketing the active, surf lifestyle. Wing’s success with Wahoo’s coincides with his knowledge and experience on branding and product placement. From starting a business, to an academic stint as an adjunct professor and most recently a guest lecturer in a sports marketing class, Wing has come full circle as an entrepreneur and business man who knows what people want and how to deliver it in his signature caring way.
