The BP Manuel development is a two well tie back to the Na Kika facility in Mississippi Canyon 474 in the Gulf of Mexico. The Manuel development began as a HIPPS tie in to an existing oil loop in the Na Kika subsea infrastructure; however, HIPPS proved to be a complex solution requiring replacement of two flex joints. Additionally, the HIPPS development scenario did not have a robust flow assurance strategy for a single line tie in that was suited for both early and late life.
