Instructor: Eli Cuelho
This training lecture is intended to cover basic considerations for the use of geocells as load support. Geocells can be used in a wide range of applications (e.g., slope stability, erosion control, retaining walls, earth retention, channel protection, pavement load support, and subgrade improvement); however, this training lecture will focus on load support applications for pavements, airports and railways. Engineers and owners interested in this information will learn about important mechanisms, key material properties, and design principles associated with geocells for use in these applications. Case studies will also be presented to provide participants with practical design and construction examples.
