This panel discussion will bring together representatives from the engineering, contractor, academic, manufacturing and government professional communities to discuss concerns about service life and risk for environmental containment of landfills, wastewater impoundments, mining applications and so on. Use of geosynthetics in these systems is ever increasing due to (relative) ease of installation compared to more traditional containment systems such as compacted clay liners, gravel drainage layers for example. Panel members will make a brief presentation outlining their primary topics and concerns on this subject matter, followed by a Q&A session with the panel moderators and audience.
