IEA Wind TCP Supports Offshore Wind’s Future Through International Collaborative Research (Room Capitol B)

IEA Wind Technology Collaboration Programme (TCP) is the leading international wind energy research organization. For 40 years IEA Wind TCP has multiplied national R,D&D efforts through information exchange and joint research projects. Researchers from 24 countries and international organizations, representing over 84% of global wind capacity, produce research results, tools, and guidelines for the design and operation of offshore and land-based wind turbines. This panel launches IEA Wind TCP’s 2019-24 Strategic Plan and shares success stories on how this collaboration addresses research needs to reduce the risk and cost of wind. Presenters will cover offshore design codes, floating lidar, environment, downwind turbines, and the research priorities for the next five years. Significant opportunities exist to maximize value and cost-competitiveness of offshore wind. IEA Wind TCP supports international expert collaboration to accelerate the pace of technology development and deployment.
