ID.me CEO Blake Hall will demonstrate how NIST 800-63-3 digital identity guidelines are applied to complete a online and in-person proofing process using ID.me Trust Referee Mobile App. Federal agencies are expected to follow the NIST 800-63-3 digital identity guidelines for all new and legacy systems. These digital identity guidelines, while they help protect citizens from identity fraud, can present access challenges for certain customer segments when only deployed as a online-only solution. To address this problem, the NIST guidelines provide an alternate path to verification--in-person identity proofing. ID.me offers a combined online and in-person proofing solution - offering the user choice as to whether they complete the process on their own or whether they complete the process assisted by a Trusted Referee, in a process facilitate by our Trusted Referee Mobile App. Blake Hall will demonstrate this process. Today, ID.me is the only NIST 800-63-3 conformant credential service provider, approved by the Kantara Initiative. Similarly, our Trusted Referee Mobile App is the only NIST-conformant in-person proofing technology in-use.
