In recent years, there has been an explosion in the number of protocols and techniques available to modify aggressive behaviors in dogs. This sea of information can be overwhelming to navigate, and often times, it can be difficult to determine which protocol to apply in each case. Through real case examples with video, the effectiveness and application of positive reinforcement, differential reinforcement strategies, and systematic desensitization and classical counter-conditioning will be shown, while stressing the importance of greatly simplifying the behavior change protocols for our clients.
