Summer Camps For Kids and Dogs: How Trainers Can Offer Them (Room B Ballroom)

12:45 PM - 2:45 PM

Tracks: Business

Involving children in the care and training of the family dog isn’t easy, but this session will show attendees how to use summer camps to do just that. In this seminar, Teena Patel will share keen insights from years of operating Camp Doglando, a summer camp that pairs campers with adoptable dogs from local shelters. Summer camps are a great way to involve kids in the care of the family dog, but they also present an opportunity for ongoing business. Families will return time and time again, especially once they realize the benefits of ongoing education. Teena will share how camps can lead to additional training classes, clinics, seminars, and more. Attendees will walk away with detailed knowledge about how to begin offering camps that bring kids and dogs together, while also partnering with shelters if they wish. As a result, trainers will feel empowered to change the lives of dogs and people, all while setting their businesses up for greater success.
