In this session, Joe Tantarelli recalls the events of June 5, 1983, when he was nearly buried alive by a trench that collapsed on him while he was installing piping. Joe will explore how human error contributed to serious mistakes that nearly cost him his life. He’ll also discuss the physical and emotional effects that incidents such as this have on not only the person injured, but also family, friends, co-workers and a company’s safety culture. You’ll learn strategies to help workers avoid these types of incidents.
