28 - I2P2 - Why Wait for OSHA? (Room 25A)

Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (I2P2) are required in some state plans and OSHA's been working toward making them a requirement for all, so why wait? Having an I2P2 is good safety management and many companies already have most of the pieces in place to make a formal plan. So, if you've got all the pieces, why not make it formal? In this presentation, we will discuss: - Leadership commitment - Worker participation - Hazard identification and assessment - Hazard prevention and control - Education and training - Recordkeeping. Director from Cal OSHA will present the requirements of their regulation that has been in place since the '90s and is their number one cited violation in both Construction and General Industry.
