46th Annual Conference

Session 1 - ISEE Blasting Fundamentals Level 1+ (Room Capitol Ballroom 1-4; Fourth Floor)

25 Jan 20
8:20 AM - 9:10 AM
Speaker(s): Maggie Hettinger
Though blasting related incidents are rare, common sense confirms that accidents involving explosives can be more severe than other types of workplace accidents. This is because the detonation of explosives releases tremendous power and energy, and the slightest error or omission can have devastating consequences. To prevent such tragedies, safety in the storage, transportation, handling, and application of explosives is paramount. This presentation over Blasting Safety is the first module in a new training program being released by the ISEE, the ISEE Blasting Fundamentals Level 1 Plus, and will serve to educate participants about the safety issues encountered by blasters and the methods used to enhance safety for themselves, their coworkers, and the general public.
