F16: Lean Principle: Getting Started with Your Lean Journey (Room S401A)

11 Nov 19
8:00 AM - 9:30 AM

Tracks: Lean, Management, MANAGEMENT

For companies just getting started or still early into their lean journey, guidelines help you avoid "reinventing the wheel". This presentation addresses the important question "How and where do I start?" Although each company's issues and problems may be different, there are still common types of analysis to do to make an informed decision about getting started. The structure of the kaizen event and everyday kaizen bring discipline and a mechanism to guide your workforce in making improvements. We will define similarities and differences between a kaizen event and everyday kaizen. In the early stages of the lean journey, this helps to get traction, begin to develop lean knowledge, and improve processes. By starting effectively, the probability of long-term success goes up. Get started and falter, then the next lean reboot gets harder and your credibility is diminished. This presentation is focused on a positive start.
