Ambient and Source Capture Dust Collection Systems
This presentation on dust and fume collection will review the use of ambient and source capture systems. The use of both types of systems in the metalworking and fabrication industry will be compared. The design of these systems to meet the requirements of NFPA Standards 652 and 654 will be discussed. The focus will be on designing individualized systems that meet the needs of both small and large operations and different types of equipment. Examples of both types of dust and fume collection systems will be shared. Attendees will gain an understanding of their options for dust and fume collections and which options might suit their application.

Combustible Dust - An Explosive Situation
Fires and explosions in the plant are a horrific site and cause extreme downtime. In this presentation, you'll learn how to test the combustibility of your dusts for all your fabrication processes to ensure you're maintaining a safe environment and what to do with the results. The session will cover things like: the properties of combustible dusts, exploring explosiveness and flammability testing, how to conduct industrial hygiene assessments and employee exposures, prioritizing your dust hazards and quantities, creating IAQ (indoor air quality goals), and approaches after results are found.
