HF Weld Process Optimization
High frequency welding is a type of electric resistance welding in which metal strip edges are heated using current and then forged together to create a seam weld. HF welding process relies on key process parameters such as welder power, frequency, precise heat input, raw material, weld area and mill setup. With advancements in steelmaking a process window for achieving a successful HF weld becomes tighter and it is important to closely monitor the process parameters and understand their influence on the resulting weld quality. This presentation summarizes the effects of welding parameters and mill setup and their optimization on resulting weld quality.
