Formerly, the Corn Variety Identification Subcommittee. This sub-committee is focused on the technical aspects of utilizing molecular markers for variety identification and as part of the process of showing distinctness for Plant Variety Protection. Projects are conducted jointly with the US Plant Variety Protection Office and are on a crop-specific basis. The Subgroup meets primarily through webinars with an in-person meeting at the ASTA CSS.
