The Green Book (formally known as The Negro Motorist Green Book) was a yearly travel directory, published from 1936-1966, by Victor H. Green. Initially focusing on New York and the surrounding area, the publication eventually grew to cover national travel within the U.S., and, ultimately, international travel. This session will cover the incredible history of the Green Book, including its impetus and growth, its use in practice, and its modern-day legacy. Time for questions and discussion will be included.
