We live today amid a deluge of images saturating politics and private life. Discussions of visual media, however, often generate more anxiety than insight. In place of clichés about Photoshopping the news, compassion fatigue, and selfie narcissism, Professor Lucaites will argue for the need to reframe photography as a vital art for the 21st century that points to an abundant life for all.
