Stress, whether it be due to trauma or job burnout, can lead to significant illness which affects a person’s health and wellbeing.  As therapists we often are working with those who have acute or chronic stress and we ourselves are often stressed out. To be effective as health practitioners, we need to understand the effects of stress, identify stress in ourselves, and then be able to utilize mindfulness techniques, not only for ourselves, but also as an intervention tool for our therapeutic practice.
