On the Compact Strip Production (CSP®) plant at JSW Dolvi, India, an update to the X-Pact® Width Control – Delta Speed technology was made in a very short shutdown time during continued production of the plant. The aim of the modernization was to increase production and improve the quality of the existing plant. This paper will present the technology and the operating results of the technology and automation revamp, starting with the extremely short project leadtime of eight months, through the short rebuild time during operation of 12 days, to the productivity and flexibility improvements.
