B7 | 'You're Anxious; I'm Anxious; We're ALL Anxious' — Meeting the Needs of Students With Anxiety (Room Sun D)

07 May 19
3:00 PM - 4:15 PM

Tracks: Behavior

School is stressful! Every student experiences anxiety from time to time — whether preparing for a final exam, writing a research paper, or delivering an in-class presentation. But with the pressure to perform well in school at an all-time high and claims of anxiety-related disabilities on the rise, distinguishing between "normal" anxiety and a qualifying disabling condition can be difficult. Attorney Dave Garner will cover issues that arise when determining eligibility for students who exhibit symptoms of anxiety. He will also discuss various potential disability classifications that may be implicated for these students, explore the limits of reasonable accommodations in addressing anxiety-related disabilities, and much more!
