This session will explain what blockchain is, including its role as the backbone to an honest and transparent transactional system. You’ll review the context, history, and technology behind blockchain, and discuss how blockchain may impact the financial, transactional, and contractual aspects of health systems. You’ll also participate in discussion and role-playing examples of potential blockchain uses in health care. Attendees should read at least one article about cryptocurrencies, and have a basic understanding of centralized vs. decentralized systems.
