Attitudes of Wind Project Neighbors: Deep Dive with Berkeley Lab Researchers on National Survey (Room Ballroom C-E)

Researchers from Lawrence Berkeley National Labs will present on their work as part of a 3-year Department of Energy funded effort to characterize the baseline of attitudes and annoyances near US wind installations. This first-of-its-kind research provides the first nationally applicable baseline of attitudes, annoyances, and other opinions toward existing wind projects.  These results can be used to educate possible host communities as to what is really going on around already-built projects, and more importantly, help clarify for AWEA members what drives annoyance and attitudes, and therefore what to focus on and what to avoid.
