How your asphalt paver operates affects the quality of the work you do, your crew’s productivity, and ultimately your bottom line. In this seminar you’ll learn how you can improve your paving process and produce a better quality pavement by gaining a better understanding of the most important element in your operation: your asphalt paver. You’ll learn the workings of the paver from front to back, covering its component parts, how they work together to produce a quality mat, and what you need to know to make sure they are functioning optimally. You’ll start with the paver’s tractor unit, learning about the paver hopper, hopper wings, flow gates, and flow control sensors. Then you’ll move on to the screed unit, discussing the head of material, paver speed, manual thickness control, and the workings and importance of a free floating screed. Plus, you’ll take home proven tips on how to improve the loading and unloading of your haul trucks. A great opportunity to take an in-depth look your paver operation and its impact on your job process.
