Your first stop is one of Colorado's prime scenic areas and top tourist attractions - the United States Air Force Academy, located on 18,000 acres of rolling pine-covered foothills. Your tour includes a stop at the soaring 17-spire Cadet Chapel and the Barry Goldwater Visitors Center, a spacious facility housing a gift shop, restaurant and displays.
The next stop at the US Olympic Training Center (USOC) is sure to take your breath away. Led by USOC Ambassadors, you will view athlete training facilities including Sport Center Gymnasiums, weightlifting and wrestling facilities, the USA Shooting Center, Coaching & Sport Science, the Aquatics Center, and Sport Medicine. Life-size figures with narrative panels adorn the Irwin Belk Olympic Pathway and provide information about Olympic and Pan American Sports.
The final stop for the day is the nearby Garden of the Gods. Ute Indians consider the site ancient mythical burial grounds for the Gods. Stop at the Visitor Center and then continue on through the terrain composed of huge slabs of red sandstone rising vertically, hundreds of feet out of the ground.
