Regulatory changes occur with each presidential election. Being proactive and understanding how new regulations will impact your business is paramount to your success in the industry. This presentation will provide an update on emerging regulatory issues within the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Topics will include OSHA and EPA policies, rulemakings and interpretations on issues such as: continued enforcement within the grain handling industry, injury and illness recordkeeping, combustible dust and revised Hazard communication standard and temporary storage. The presenter, Jess McCluer, is Vice President of Safety and Regulatory Affairs with the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA). He is responsible for directing and managing the NGFA’s wide-ranging operations programs for grain elevators, feed mills and grain processing plants. He also oversees NGFA’s activities regarding employee safety and industrial health, environmental issues, grain-handling facility design and equipment, grain inspection and weighing issues, grain and feed quality and agroterrorism/facility security related issues.
