The hype surrounding the administration’s infrastructure program has been ongoing since the presidential campaigns. In preparation for the estimated $1.5 trillion in infrastructure investments, many firms have invested in expansion and are prepared to engage in this historic construction program.  But, where are the projects?

The infrastructure program released in February lacks detail to say the least. Its emphasis on triggering state and private dollars is a key component to rebuilding American infrastructure, yet without the details on how to proceed under the initiative, many are left contemplating how they can contribute.

This session will explore, and, to the greatest extent possible, provide information on how firms should develop, bid and execute infrastructure proposals and projects under the initiative, while also examining the regulatory changes and impacts under the initiative.

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how the regulatory process has changed to streamline the bidding and awarding of federal infrastructure, and how to take advantage of these changes under the “One Federal Decision” goal of the program.
  • Understand possible models for federal and private funding under the infrastructure initiative, including private bonding.
  • Understand state and local alignment objectives and return of decision-making authority to those governments for infrastructure projects.
