This is the fourth and final program of Advocacy in Construction Litigation. The panel, representing, perhaps, one hundred years of active trial experience, will discuss the biggest challenge facing every trial attorney: How do I get my adversary’s witness to admit the contentions of my client? The panel will examine the nature of cross-examination, preparation and approaches to cross-examine and go through specific and common cross-examination challenges and how to solve them. Through actual examples, the panel will demonstrate how to use the vehicle of cross-examination to advocate your position. This is an advanced techniques program that will be of interest to lawyers and clients at every level of experience.

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the nature and purpose of cross-examination leads to more effective advocacy and how to advocate the merits of your position through cross-examination.
  • Deal with surprises, both good and not so good.
  • Take special approaches and considerations in dealing with experts.
