Trauma-informed care is intentionally focusing on being sensitive to the needs of the children in our classrooms. The focus of this session will be to provide an overview of the construct of these strategies and the positive outcome for students in every classroom. A child’s ability to focus in class may be altered by experiencing trauma in a multitude of ways, from the death of a close family member or family pet to hostility in the home or watching violence on the news. Included in this interactive discussion will be an overview of Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
